Cancer in a Workplace

This is an online CPD delivered my Maggie’s Lanarkshire.

By 2030, there will be almost 1 million people with cancer in the UK workforce. A report by Oxford Economics, Maggie’s, and leading employee benefits provider Unum revealed that 71% of HR managers don’t have policies in place for communication and management of employees with a cancer diagnosis.

As an HR professional or manager, you’ll need to know how to best support employees affected by cancer, and our working with cancer workshop will help to equip you for these situations.

This free workshop will help you to:

Understand the emotional, physical and psychological needs of employees with cancer

Approach these situations with knowledge, empathy and understanding by providing you with insights and management strategies

Create the right framework to manage employees with cancer.

We cover topics such as sensitive communication, adjustments when returning to work and coping strategies that employers can use to better support their employees.

While the session focuses on supporting a colleague affected by cancer, much of it is relevant to other health conditions, and also to those supporting a family member or friend through cancer.

Maggie’s Clinical Psychologist, Lorrie Cameron will host the session.

You must secure your spot with malwina.bieniawska@maximpark.co.uk before 2pm on September 23rd. 10 spots only.

It is online meeting between 13:30 - 16:00 and you will receive at access in advance.
