(Updated) CPD talks, workshops and seminars are back at Maxim Park.

We are so very pleased to bring CPDs (Continuing Personal Development) back to our Event Calendar. We hope our Tenants will benefit from meeting with our passionate speakers educating us on various topics.

We start with Sustainability. This block will be divided into four events.

The first is a talk about Sustainability in Fashion and will be run by Hayley McDonald, Social Sustainability Manager from ACS Clothing on 17th of August between 12:05 - 1pm in former Regis Cafe premises.

What is ACS Clothing? It’s a team of passionate professionals who have been perfecting their skills and expertise to become a leading fashion rental and renewal reverse logistics provider in the UK and they have been Tenants of Maxim Park/Central belt for last several years. “From suits and kilts to dresses and babygrows, we have been extending the life of clothing for over 25 years and look forward to enabling the shift towards circular fashion for many more years to come.” Visit the ACS website for more inspirational information such as this shocking research: Do you know that 50% of returns never actually make it back to shelves when you return your clothes? They just go to landfill.

We will talk about various topics regarding sustainable and ethical fashion, including transparency in fashion, what we can do as consumers and what makes us feel hopeful about the future of the fashion industry. We would like to do whatever we can to inspire you to participate in fighting for a fairer and more sustainable world.

Our second event in our Sustainability block will be our very own internal Second-hand Market.

Part 1 Summertime is great for cleaning. Clear out your wardrobe, see what you're not using anymore, donate/sell/exchange it, reuse, recycle! Bring your garments to Maxim 3 Management suite and talk to Malwina on 22nd, 34rd, 24th, 25th or 28th of August between 9am and 5pm. If you want to sell your items, she will sell them for you. If you wish to donate the, she will donate them for you. We would like to support Mary's Meals and Hope for Autism, but let us know if you wish to support another charity based in Lanarkshire.

Part 2 Take part in the market. It's open to everyone, for those who do not sell or donate as well. 30th and 31st of August between 11:30 - 14:30 if former Regis Cafe premises. Cash only.

Hopefully to see you all there!

The third and fourth events (7th of September and 12th of October) will be hosted by Lauren Lochrie, the founder of Herbal Homestead. “Herbal Homestead demonstrates responsible land stewardship and business by practicing permaculture & regenerative agriculture with the aim of providing educational opportunities throughout around; outdoor learning, forest gardening, food growing, herbalism, nature crafts, ecological restoration and bee keeping.” Click here to read more about Lauren and her work.

On 7th of September Lauren will talk about benefits of herbs, oil infusions and you will make your own hand cream or a muscle rub.

On 12th of October Lauren will focus on kitchen remedies and herbal tea blend. You will learn, among other topics, how to heal a sunstroke or make your own cleansing tonic.

Hopefully these workshops sounds fantastic to you. We simply cannot wait!

We are proud to help to facilitate the spread of nature knowledge, ensuring it is passed along and used to create a more sustainable world.
