Develop yourself at Maxim Park
At Maxim Park we know that work is just one part of our everyday life for our busy workplace community. That’s why we strive to ensure that everyone based here also has access to a broad range of personal and professional development opportunities to help them look after all aspects of themselves, including their health, finances, and confidence to name a few!
Our friends at Maggie’s Lanarkshire for example recently gave us the benefit of their experience providing vital support to those going through any type of cancer and their loved ones, by running an informative session on cancer in the workplace.
This year we also hosted the first in what we hope will be at least annual sessions on menopause in the working environment. Similarly important topics covered lately have been mental health awareness and workplace neurodiversity, with Headtorch leading a discussion on how to build and maintain a caring, mentally healthy culture at work, and Lifelink Workwell guiding us through strategies to include and empower individuals with dyslexia, dysphoria, ADHD, autism and other examples of neurodivergence.
Not long ago we also welcomed Michelle Minnikin, the author of Good Girl Deprogramming®, which has expanded beyond a book launched last year to include a podcast. Now a movement for change with a growing community, in its materials Michelle explains how societal pressures and norms have historically kept women and girls behaving rather than progressing, and encourages them to rebel.
Later this month we also have a great chance to learn more about the business of leadership in an interactive workshop that focuses on the skills, philosophies and abilities that highlight the distinction between managers and leaders to foster effective, high-performing teams – whatever your industry. The morning session on November 14th begins at 9.30am and is mainly aimed at senior and team leaders, but places are limited, so be quick to grab your spot.
Our Director of Park Services Caroline Baillie said: “Maxim Park exists to maximise people’s potential, so our community can be the strongest it can be.
“We’re proud to have secured such a variety of speakers and events over the course of the last few months and are hard at work to offer more going forward, so if there are any burning topics of interest, so let us know!

In the meantime, find out what learning and development opportunities are coming up via the Maxim app, on our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or TikTok pages, or on our website at maximpark.com/community/#events.
